Heather Korn
Director - Voice, Piano
Heather Korn is a 1992 graduate of Beatrice High School. She returned home to Beatrice in 2019 after living in Iowa, New York City, California, Las Vegas and Tennessee. She opened Music Works Studio in 2021 and Music Works Academy in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Voice from Coe College and a Master of Music (M.M.) in Voice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and also atteneded the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Heather’s passion for teaching and dedication to her students have earned her notable recognition in the music world. She was honored with the Outstanding Teacher of the Arts Award from Middle Tennessee State University’s Governor’s School of Music, acknowledging her exceptional ability to inspire and mentor young artists. Additionally, her insightful reviews have been published in the American Music Teacher Magazine, reflecting her deep understanding of the voice and vocal pedagogy.
Her rich experience also includes an internship with the Metropolitan Opera Education program in New York City, where she gained invaluable exposure to the world of opera. Heather has been awarded the Crawford Music Prize from Coe College, a testament to her excellence in music education and performance.
